How to naturally increase joint mobility
About one-third of adults have a problem with one or more joints. Diet and the right supplement are not a side note.
Most people, including doctors, do not believe that diet and the right supplements have such a profound effect on joints, skin, and connective tissue — despite the accumulating research. There is a huge gap between the complexity of the human organism and the rudimentary data on which diagnostic and therapeutic decisions are now based.
One national study reported that about one-third of adults have a problem with one or more joints. Knee pain was the most common complaint, followed by shoulder and hip, but joint pain can affect any part of the body. As you get older, painful joints become increasingly common.
Joints are movable connections between two bones. Articular surfaces are covered with cartilage 0.2–0.5 mm thick, up to 6 mm on the kneecap, sealed by a capsule whose inner layer produces synovial fluid. That thick fluid nourishes cartilage, lets surfaces glide, and acts as a shock absorber. Human articular cartilage is built from collagen type II (10–20%), hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulfate and keratan sulfate (1–20%), chondrocytes (1–5%), and water (75–80%).
Joints, connective tissues, and the rest of the body effectively dry out with age. Synovial fluid, built mainly from hyaluronic acid, slowly falls. Cartilage becomes brittle, then thins and loses elasticity — the common “bone to bone” sensation. Articular cartilage has no blood supply; it gets oxygen and nutrients from synovial fluid. When that fluid dries out, the nutrient supply is limited.
Why can’t collagen and HA be replenished from food? Processed foods often lack what the body needs. The body requires the correct proportions and form of collagen II, HA, and chondroitin sulfate so they can be absorbed. Naturally occurring molecules are too large; they are simply eliminated. It is not what we take. It is what the body can absorb.

It will not feed the rest of the body. Joint replacement is a last resort. Even after surgery, replenish the missing ingredients so other tissue does not follow.
